Auto Hose Reel (Holman, Nylex, Pope and Gardena)

Hi,
I have returned a number of no longer required purchases from Bunnings and exchange them for an exchange voucher with a total value of $200. They were lose/extra items previously purchased while I was renovating my home and I have misplaced the receipts. Lucky Bunnings were kind enough to offer me exchange voucher for them.

I am in need of an auto retractable garden hose reel and my choices are limited to the following. I would like to seek OzBargain community advice on which of the hose reel I should invest on:

There are no product reviews for items 1, 4 and 5, can anyone share some feedback?

Product review for Holman and pope is also not good. However I note that the reviews posted was based on a previous Holman retractable reel design. Have anyone purchase the current Holman reel and with feedback to share?

    Bought a Nylex 30m hose reel (similar to 25m model) about 3 months ago and have been happy with it.
    Apparently the Nylex are exclusive to Bunnings.
    I think the Pope and Holman brands are a little lightweight and the Gardena is very good its a bit too expensive.
    Our Nylex reel was a bit 'sticky' at first, but its working well now.
    Would recommend the Nylex.

      'sticky' - hard to pull out and retract? Does the hose kinks often?

        The hose does not kink, and it pulled out ok.
        It just got a bit crossed over (sticky) when it rewound but its setted down and working fine now.

    Have the latest Holman 20m installed.
    comes with 4 extremly strong bolts to keep the unit stable
    while retracting
    nozzle attatchment is good, various useful spray settings, doesnt leak.
    plastic components but stronger and better quality than the standard stuff.
    hose never tangles.
    for $97 id buy one again for my next place.

    Have the Holman and great for the price. So far no complaints. Wish I had one sooner!

    Pulled out the hose to max and no issues with tangling. So far so good.

      I went to Bunnings and they have the Holman retractable hose in the garden area. The case seems flimsy. How long have you own your Holman? Do you reckon it will last in a full morning - afternoon sun environment area.

    Hard to say really as I've only had the hose installed for about 2 months. I felt the build quality was decent. The summer will be a good test for it.

    So not much help there.

    Also, is it possible to find out from a Bunnings warehouse how long their Holman has been installed for? They'd also be used with less care and more extensively than one installed in your front yard. The Bunnings that I went to had both the Holman and Pope on display and the former seemed better.

    I have 2 Holman at home, 1 bought maybe 2 years ago and the other one early this year.
    No issues with either one, although the newer one feels smother when pulled out and retract.
