Austen. Carroll. Shelley. Doyle. Kafka. Twain. Swift.

The complete works of any authors who have been deceased for over 70 years are available for free via The Gutenberg Project, as their works have lapsed into the public domain.

These historical pieces are the property of society, and should not be charged for by greedy online distributors like Amazon.com. It is not a deal when these distributors decide to make them temporarily available for free.

Files are available for free for online reading and downloading in a variety of eBook formats.

    Taylor Swift is still alive.

    • It's always been free. It would be unethical to charge for public domain works even though Amazon does.

It's also never been posted on Ozbargain before, let alone the past 3 months so perfectly eligible for posting here.

Why are you against the freedom to do what you like with works that are no longer copyrighted? You're worse than the former copyright holders :p

  • I didn't know Steve Gutenburg was branching out into other projects like this, he was great in the Police Academy movies and Cocoon.
