Buying House

Hi
I am planning to buy a property. I have seen few houses from CHC for sale. Since Iam new to Australia, I want to know will there be any issues if I buy this. for example, in future if I want to re sell people may not buy it or the price values may drop because it is from CHC affordable housing.
the property I am looking is not under house and land package. any suggestions / valuable opinions welcome.

thanks

By CHC do you mean Community Housing Canberra? I only ask because I didn't know without googling and even then it wasn't super obvious. I would imagine who originally sold it would mean little. The area it is it, the quality of the house etc will determine its future value. Look at the housing around it or the previous sales history of the group to determine the value. I highly doubt you are lucky enough for someone with specific knowledge of CHC to read this post.

        • thank you

yes, I mean Community housing Canberra. the property I am looking is a brand new one.
only thing I noted is 9 similar constructions around the area. it looks like all the chc houses have same looks and similar construction style.
would this be a problem in re sales in the future.

          @jobs85:

you are asking the wrong questions.

what are the vacancy rates around the area?
          facilities?
          schools?
          shops?
does your property fit the needs of renters in the area?

if it rents out well; it gives you a good indication of demand.

are you buying an investment property? or a home?

(seems like you are worried about the facade/ external look of the property)

        • i thought he meant christchurch airport

Why used CHC ? And wasting people time to guess what it stands for ???

Highly recommend not buying for a couple of years till you've experienced the market a bit more.

    • Having said that, there is a bit of growth happening in the suburbs over there.

      • Haha that should help, dont do it .. then again ….

        • Opposite but factually true statements :)
