NEXBOX A95X Smart TV Box 2GB RAM+8GB ROM Amlogic S905X US $33.14 ~ AU $44 Delivered @ AliExpress

120

Good price for the 2GB RAM version. Seller has more than 4.5k orders and 4.8/5 feedback rating. You can also upgrade from 8GB ROM to 16GB ROM, bringing the total to ~AU $52 delivered. The wireless keyboard is decent value as well. Don't forget cashback (11.11% on cashrewards), and it also appears that there's a store coupon giving you another dollar off, just click on the coupon just under the "Buy it now" button. I just ordered the 16 GB version with the keyboard, if the cashback goes through my total after the cashback and coupon will be round ~AU $54. The only downside is the lack of AU plug.. I've got a couple of these adapters for US $0.31 AU $0.41 each delivered.

Also, LibreELEC developmental firmware is available for this, offering better performance and reliability. See info here and here.

  • Great christmas present :-)

    • +2

exactly! and should be delivered in time for christmas too :-)

      • Let's hope so

  • Can this play .mkv movies with proper.srt subtitles? All my smart tvs couldn't.

    • Yes, I watch .mkv and other filetype movies & shows on Kodi and it works well

  • Any idea if this box has the Play Store enabled (i.e. Google certified?) Or do you need to side-load apps? I'm looking for something that can run Netflix, Kodi and Freeview FV for a room that doesn't have an antenna…

    • You can put any apps on it. I removed kodi 16.1 installed kodi 17 beta, Archos, SMBC and a few others. Kodi does not play 10 bit 265 HVEC files, nor does Archos or SMBC. The built in media player does.
so its the usual bag of Androids no side loading needed

      • Yeah, thats just wrong. I had a s905 based Beelink MiniMX and Kodi plays 1080p 10bit high bitrate hevc flawlessly, both as an Android app and even better when you run LibreElec/OpenElec. I played 2160p movie once, it was a little bit choppy.

    • The vast majority of the cheap TV boxes will run Netflix only at standard resolution and you won't get HD or 4K. This is because Netflix requires the device to be licensed to stream at full quality and obviously almost all cheap TV boxes have not been licensed. For Netflix you can try getting a cheap Google Chromecast or Roku.

    • I have a M8S II box which is similar. Play store enabled yes but netflix won't run at 1080p I believe.

Kodi works fine unless you're playing high quality audio. I ditched android and am using libreelec (very easy to install) and high quality audio now works.

      Not sure if freeview works.

I bought a Nexbox last night (same link as above) and will prob buy another. Pretty good value for $40

  • TBH it's only a small 28" LCD TV for the bedroom, so SD Netflix would probably be fine. I'll look into libreelec though, sounds interesting!

Bought one (2G/16G) a couple of months ago.
It works perfectly fine for me with TPG ADSL2.
It comes with Youtube and Kodi, browser, and even Google Play.

    • No dodgy services?

      • No issue found so far.
I am not using my primary gmail in the box so it is not a big issue even there is anything dodgy.

  • Does Logitech 400r keyboard work with the box?

  • damn, waited too long. Want a second kodi box generally but that ketboard thingy looks kewl. Didn't even notice it when I first looked.

    • You can get the keyboards quite cheap on ebay I payed about $10 each for three of them. Just make sure it's a genuine Rii brand as there are a lot of copies that don't work as well.

  • Am I missing something why expired it shows up when I click on link?
I'm looking for a Kodi box for bedroom how does this compare to others any good?

    • The price in the title was a part of the Singles' Day promotion by AliExpress which has now expired.
