PC GAMER - How Long Does It Take Games to Be Cheap on Steam?

Not sure if this has been posted before - PC Gamer article:

"We dug through years of Steam sale data to determine how quickly most games hit 33%, 50%, and 75% off."

I don't buy games on steam much simply because they are not even close to being cheap

Seven months for mankind divided? thats 30 usd aswell why not buy it cheaper right now? http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/deus-ex-mankind-divided-pc-st…

  • Thanks OP, I am pretty happy with the 75% off deals, especially for Rockstar games

  • I refuse to buy any steam game over $10. Even then I'm wary of buying it since bundles tend to include the games i want.
On a side not if you have over 100 games plz stop buying them and play your games

    • Please spend more on games.

    • Where were you to tell me that all those years ago?! Now I own far too many games. :(

    • What if I just like collecting them? :3

  • …so they get discounted slightly faster than console games.

However, since titles launch quicker on consoles… it seems the same game usually gets a discount around the same time on both consoles and pc.
In other words, consoles are more expensive… but what you give up on affordability, you get back in time to enjoy the games at their prime/fresh.
    Seems like a good trade-off.

However, I just can't stand how low-end gaming is on consoles.
An old Intel Core i3 4130 with 4GB RAM and a GTX 660, obliterates the Xbox One, X1S, PS4 and PS4 Slim.
An old Intel Core i3 4170 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 960… is on-par with the PS4 Pro.
There's no console that can match something akin to a Core i5 4430 (or more), 8GB RAM (or more), GTX 970 (or more)…. let alone higher specs.
