Recently, TDAmeritrade liquidated all my US stocks because they had "made a business decision" to no longer offer brokerage services to my country roll eyes. I'm really frustrated that this happened because I never received any notifications (although a quick search online shows that some users did receive a notification). The only other option is to open a TDAmeritrade Asia account and have it all transferred there, but I am wondering whether there is any other good local brokerage services that offer good prices for US stock market or any other (local or international) stock broker who can beat TDAmeritrade's trading platform.

I never use TDAmeritrade, but some online brokers with good platform I can think of are ETrade, Optionsxpress and Interactive Broker. Optionsxpress might be closing down Australian retail accounts like TDAmeritrade as they have closed down Europe and NZ retail accounts.
