Does AAMI Insurance Cover Accidental Damage to Carpet?

I am going through PDS and can`t seem to confirm whether AAMI insurance covers accidental damage to carpet e.g. spill or tear etc.

Does anyone here know?

  I believe carpet is part of the building, not the contents. So check your building policy.

    I always thought carpet was part of content insurance?

    Carpet is generally always part of contents, not building.

  You will need extra cover in your policy for accidental events to cover it I would think.

    Yep - accidental cover is an option with AAMI. You pay extra for accidental damage to things like carpet. It's standard for glass and ceramic items generally.
