Hi, purchased an air cond split system (5KW) from The Good Guys and they are quoting $900 for installation. $700 install + $200 removal of existing unit. Sounds expensive. Any recommendation or advise please? thanks

i heard in the radio last week not sure if it was harvey norman or TGG they are doing it for $290 for installation
I had the TGG contractors install a 5kw Samsung last year or the year before (forgotten now) and it was $600 and something, so $700 sounds reasonable to me today.
Air con installs are expensive shit.
Advertise the old unit on Gumtree for free and get someone to take it away.
We moved our old air cons to the other side of the house ourselves. Was a bit fiddly but it worked and can be done. Just needed an electrician to connect it to the box.
just to add that installation work needs to be compliant for warranty purposes
