Possible to Sell Aussie Regional Domain Names to Chinese Market

Hi, I understand that this forum is not for selling but I have a question.

I registered some quality Aussie city names (prefix my) early 2000.

Any good Chinese domain name auction sites that someone can recommend?

Please do not ask for the names of the domain names as I would be in breach of the forum rules if I post them.

Admin, feel free to delete this post if I am in breach ;—)

  • I don't have a recommendation, but just curious - why are you looking for chinese domain auction sites (as opposed to Australian)?

  • Hope to sell them for more $ to the Chinese ha ha ha…

Not saying that physical real estate is the same as domain names but the Chinese seems to pay big $ for real estate. I have accumulated some really good names over the years. I am confident that I will be able to sell them for a good profit one of these days. Dreaming, probably yes but it all start by dreaming ha ha ha…

I had them for 15 years already, so no real urgency but would be nice to make a good profit.

  • So you plan to sell to Chinese who will advertise like they're in Australia?

    Sounds like something everyone hates.

That was an interesting assumption that the Chinese will buy the domain name and advertise like they are in Australia.

    I respect your assumption though.

  • Don't count on it. Unless it's Melbourne.com, Sydney.com.au, then you might be wasting your time. If your interested in learning about the Chinese domain market subscribe to the newsletter by Giuseppe Graziano, and then listen to the domainsherpa podcasts. Or pm me some names so I can offer my opinion, I do domaining on the side.

  • Hi, tried to send you a pm but you don't accept any new conversation according to the messaging system…

The are Australian city names with .com extension and the prefix my before the city name. myperth.com etc

    • The messaging must not be enabled by default, so I just enabled it. Feel free to PM me names. Meanwhile you could list the names on the Uniregistry market, or Bodis, either of which will also give you an indication of traffic (if there is any). If your interested in domaining I can share some links to websites I use.
