Heading to USA

Frist time posting here, thought this was the right community to consult.

In a couple of weeks I'll be heading to San Francisco. It'll be my first time in the US. I will only be there for a few days though.

What are some bargain buys whilst over there? What are your experiences with shopping in the US?

Thanks in advance :)

Not much. Pretty much answered here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/274440

  • Levi's store in SF, definitely. For me, going to Lake Tahoe or the redwood forests in the North is a day well spent.

  • Exchange rate is still shockers, but camping gear is MUCH cheaper than in AUS.

  • Clothes from clearance stores/end of season sales to take advantage of the reversed seasons.

    Simon premium outlets

  • Buy a TV, it is much cheaper in USA.

  • Ross for discount clothes. Check a few stores if you are nearby as each store has different stuff.

Liquor/Spirits can be found for cheap at most convenience stores (Even cheaper at walmart if there is one near-by). i.e bottle of jimmy for $13USD (Just be sure to check the exchange rate)

  • I just did this for Amazon:

Register for Amazon Prime Trial. Get same day delivery for free
Find the nearest amazon locker boxes.
    Send your stuff there
Rent the cheap CITI cycles… go pick up your purchase.

It is really amazing that you can sit in Amy's breadshop in New York. See a book you like but it is 30US. Check Amazon at 10am and pick it up that SAME day from from your amazon locker for $12…

Just amazing how well that all works.

PS: Don't have to register for Prime, but the shipping may take a little longer.
