Cheapest ITX Gaming Rig with eBay 20% off

Hi fellow ozbers,

In light of the ebay 20% off I'm wondering how much will it cost to build a gaming rig in mini itx form. The mini requirement I've is i3 for cpu and 1060/R470 for GPU.

Thanks.

I did a mini ITX build last time there was a 20% eBay sale - the whole thing cost me $1250 (i5-6500, 16GB RAM, 1060 6GB, 256GB SSD etc).

I imagine you could almost sneak it under $1000 with some careful comparisons and thorough searching.

    • Thanks! Which case are you using?

      • I ended up getting a Silverstone Sugo SG13 from PCCG, outside of eBay. The seller I was trying to get it from ran out of stock

        • The Silverstone SG13 is a good case, however its a little difficult to fit everything in there neatly.
If you want a more "no compromise" solution, then the FractalDesign's Core 500 is a nice alternative.
Its larger at a 19.5 L size though.

The SG13 is quite compact at 11.5 L size.
However, when you go that small size its better (thermally) to go for a rectangular shape instead of boxy.
The FD's Node 202 is slightly smaller at 10.2 L, but is actually easier to assemble.
And following the same recipe, you can even go down further to 9.8L of Silverstone's RVZ02 case.
And even more extreme is Dan Case A4-SFX at 7.3 L.
At the most extreme, at 6.9 L, is the Dr Zaber Sentry mini ITX case.

        • Note that you won't be able to find either of those two last cases easily though for the time being, as they were limited run.

Don't they jack up the prices before the 20% off is valid so it's not that good a deal?

    • a few things maybe, but the majority doesnt seem to be

    • Some things aren't any cheaper. Very little stuff is genuinely 20% discount, but still cheaper than retail….especially when you include postage cost.

    • Pretty much everything so far that I need for the same purpose as the OP is jacked up. Only monitors and GPUs are cheaper (sometimes).

      • Yeah I've noticed places such as PCByte have ok prices Gpus but Mwave are 20% dearer than their store so they don't change their prices in such sales.
