Samsung Pay now available on Gear S2 Smartwatch

Check the Samsung Gear app people as the future is finally upon us!

No more shall I need to appear like a regular schmuck fishing for my wallet in my pocket only to have to then laboriously select and pull out a card to pay with.

No more shall I need to appear like I'm somewhat up with the times using my phone to tap and pay.

No. Now my friends I can finally maximise my payment efficiency and now pay for things using my Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. Oh how the attendant will shrink back in awe and amazement. The small queue behind me forming will gasp. Some may even faint.

The future is here ladies and gentleman. Embrace it.

  • Citibank and AMEX only… I wish they'd make deals with more bank.

    • It is a shame yes. Won't be too far down the track and there will be more.

I'm hopeful as just today it was announced Citi are taking over the Coles Credit cards. Potentially leading to the Coles cards being on Samsung Pay too. That would make my Platinum Edge and Coles Rewards Mastercard combo just that much sweeter if I could use them both with Samsung Pay.

      • The amount of goodies that Koreans get makes me jealous. I was excited for Samsung Pay for that reason.

They really have to up the game, major banks support would be nice. I had my hopes because I've heard that Samsung don't charge fees to banks for Samsung Pay, but I am getting the feeling that banks are not interested whether that thing with fees is true or not. At the moment, at least Australian version, feels like yet another Samsung software that Samsung would give up in few years time (like their other services).

The only reason why I keep Samsung Pay is because of the membership card stuff (which I could probably replace, but eh).

        • Over in the US Samsung just released a feature called Samsung Rewards. Basically you get rewards points when you use Samsung Pay just like any credit card. The reward points are in addition to any normal points you get using the actual credit card so its a bonus.

This would definitely make using Samsung Pay much more attractive.
