Zojirushi Thermos Japan

Hey all, I can't edit my other post but pyro checking in again. I was after a zojirushi Thermos to bring back to aust, no idea where to get one or what kinda price range they're meant to be in I've seen some at kuromon markets and they're about 3900 yen for a half litre one. Any thoughts?

Edit sorry 600ml

Is that the tall one for drinks or the fat "food jar" one? Rakuten is showing the drinks one at ~¥2,000, the food jar for ~¥3,000.

Assuming you are in Japan, goto Tokyo Hands. Its an awesome store with lots of good stuff, including what you are after. This is your best bet.

Alternatively, try some of the department stores. I have seen heaps in places like Takashimaya and some of the smaller department stores in their kitchen/homewares area.

Edit - I just remembered who else stocks heaps of these - an electronics store called Bic Camera. The stores are massive and sell everything from luggage to bicycles to homewares to toilets to tvs. You will enjoy going here. Have fun!

      Literally? Really? Ha ha

I assume you meant Tokyu Hands

  • Drink one. Thanks for all the info guys!

  • There are a million kitchen things shops in Kappabashi in Tokyo.

Worth a look for all the interesting Japanese cutlery/cookware/dinnerware etc. Plus plastic food samples.
There were quite a few options for thermos.

    • I'm on Osaka at the moment but will be spending the remainder if my time in Tokyo. I didn't realise how expensive plastic food samples were! It's like 15 bucks for a keyring.

      Are thr prices ok?

      • Keyring shrimp were about $6 I think.
Overall, the cookware I had a price reference for Le Crueset pans, was much the same as in AU I think.
But there was a good range and literally 60+ shops.
3 or 4 shops selling nothing but the plastic samples.
Embarrassingly, when we arrived it was nearly lunch time and I was on the lookout for something to eat when I saw a shop across the street with what appeared to be an amazing collection of bakery items along with bentos and lots more.
I headed down to the crossing then back up only to discover it was all plastic.

        • All the ones I've seen in Osaka and stuff have been like 1100 yen and up. Ive heard that if you buy a zojirushi ypu but it for life. So I really wanted one. I've spent way too much on the pokemon store though. Holy crap.

  • Like the tokyu hands suggestion above, it will depend which part of japan you are in- other similar stores are homac, joyful honda, don kihote, seiyu.

Careful when you buy as some are only made for cold drinks, while others are for both hot and cold.

  • Got the Giant Bomb recommended one from Amazon US.

  • You can buy them at Yodobashi. I got them the there and the price was so reasonable.
