Dell Inspiron 11 3000 N3710 Bloatware

I've put a fresh copy of win10 on this, so no dell stuff.
But I'm sure windows will find drivers and software automatically and install them.

Other than these, what must one install from the dell site to make sure it works properly and stable?

thanks

  • If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I use most of my laptops in a no-bloat configuration, and Windows 10 is smart enough to install the right drivers 95% of the time.

The only time where you might need to install a driver yourself is when you have a gaming laptop and the GPU needs the latest version to run and support new games.

Touchpad drivers can be updated to ensure you have the latest touchpad gesture features, but it's also fairly unneccesary since Windows will install the most generic driver from Synaptics for e.g

Other things, like wifi adapters, sound cards, USB controllers, RAID drivers etc are all usually working by the time you finish installing Win10 and do not usually require a manual installation.

  • Just get the drivers. I've never had a problem with bloatware just be downloading drivers from dell.com

  • So windows should install automatically the latest:
Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework
Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface Driver
    Dell Airplane Mode Switch Driver
    Dell touchpad driver

I'm assuming I would need to install manually the ssd firmware update.

Would I need the bluetooth application to transfer more than 1 file at a time, or can this be done normally in win10?

  • also, if I want to wipe and try linux, will the dell setup/diagnostics boot menu stop working?
