Getting Away from Childcare job

I know someone who has a childcare job experience of a year . But the job is physically very demanding and due to the person't bad back the chances of being able to do the job in the long run , doesn't look great .

Can I get suggestion on what could be some alternate career paths for the person ? The last resort if nothing works out would be to do a Master's degree , but that costs a lot of time and money.

What would they hope to get out of the Master's degree?

I wouldn't be getting a Master's degree if they want to change careers. A Master's is what you want to get is when you have background experience already and you want to move onto upper level management of a large business, for example.

For career changers, the quickest pathway is to get a TAFE diploma or a graduate certificate, and if you want to pursue a Bachelor's degree you could do Open Universities online.

What about Early childhood education? You will need to complete a 4 yr degree to get full certifications to become a childhood teacher however, so it's highly probable your friend will need to comtemplate on doing some other part time job while he/she studies.

Look at other industries that cater to children that doesnt require as much back breaking labor, like child psychology, or teaching.

+1 I know a few people who have gone early childhood (childcare) to early primary school teaching.

If they're looking at a Masters presumably this person already has a Bachelors in something? In which case, could they do a Diploma of Education and teach high school?

Can I suggest child welfare? We can never have too many caring people looking out for our kids.
