Wouldn't trust em to warrant it. Bought 3-4 Stanley tool sets, had a dodgy hex key and after 5 try to contact them they never email back.

If I can't trust them to warrant a hex key I can't trust em to warrant bigger stuff…

Edit: do you think I could take the hex key to super cheap? Bought the set there 2 year ago.

While I agree to your first line, trust is another thing than trying just email, most companies or even people working for them don't email back.
You would think Stanley would have good customer service. Obviously not for you.
Take them back to SCA and advise them Stanley never responded, see if they can replace on the spot or at least get Stanley too.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I could after so long.

I've got this model a few years ago for around the same price. Very happy with it.

Thanks for adding your comment. I tried to find a video review of the unit but had very limited results.
I wanted to get an idea of how loud/noisey it is. Can you give some idea/offer your opinion…?
Is it 'smooth' running as they go?

      Regards.

      • +4

        No probs.
It's belt driven, so a bit quieter than others. Yeah, smooth running.
What do I think of the noise? Pretty typical ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really appreciate you adding this, many thanks.

Strange this video didn't show up when I was searching yesterday…
and the video you supplied had a yellow/rectangular message underneath stating:
"This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing."
I have never seen such a message on YouTube… wondering what that was all about :oS

          More importantly though, thanks again!

Awesome - I've also been waiting for this to drop to around $400. Now lets jut hope Woolies does a deal on SCA gift cards before the expiry date ;)
(Even if they don't, can still get 5% off by purchasing Woolies vouchers via Cash Rewards, then purchasing SCA gift cards from Woolworths)

    • +3

You are in luck!!! Woolies will do 10% off SCA gift cards next Wednesday!

      • But won't this deal have expired by then?

        • +1

The catalogue ends 4th Dec, so there is still time after the gift card purchase.

      • If you can't wait til then, this is also available on ebay
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Stanley-Air-Compressor-Belt-Drive…

I think there's a 10% off voucher floating around, although with any luck, ebay will have a 20% off sale to make it a super deal!

        • What is the voucher for 10% on ebay?

  • +2

Manual puts it at 2200W and 75% duty cycle

Not sure you can get more powerful without moving to petrol

Helluva first post OP, good find.

edit: Free delivery deserves a mention!

    • +1

Thanks. I've added the free delivery!

    • Sure can, mine is 7.5 Kw

      • but how…

        • I`ve got 3phase at home.

        • @Bargin Boy:

That's some serious power. What do you use it for?

  • +1

Don't need it, but I want it, surely. That means I need it.

    • +1

I too want it, but not sure why I need it for.

  • I would get this…..but I just don't have room in my garage.
    I def need a bigger shed/garage/workshop/man cave……..

    • I keep mine in the house :)

  • Looks like you don't have to wait till next Wednesday for Woolworth's gift card deal now, here is the latest deal from Entertainment Book. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278260

    Finally pulled trigger.

    • So, what pushed you to get it?

I'm on the fence myself. There's plenty of things that an air compressor could be used for, but the half the ones I can think of could be done better a different way, and the other half don't need this much power. Grr

      • +1

I wanted something for spraying decks, cleaning guns & sure air tools are much cheaper now as every one is moving towards battery powered, both does the job, but i am finding air tools cheap in Gum tree.
Inconvenience is that battery ones portable.
I am someone who thinks, buy once, buy it right, hence the decision.

  • I picked up the last unit from Mentone today.

First, I bought a $500 woolworths gift card for $465 through the services of lilkid28
Then, I went to woolworths and bought 5x $100 sca giftcards, one at a time, using my everydayrewards card to claim $10 back each time
When I bought the unit, I used the $5 credit on my SCA card

    End price? $334
