Anyone Have Experience with Akai Reverse Cycle?

I'm looking at Bunnings for a reverse cycle A/C and the choice is basically between a Mitsubishi model and an Akai model. The Akai one is cheaper but the same ratings pretty much.

So obviously I'm considering the cheaper model. Does anyone have any experience with them? Good or bad?

Thanks

    Mitsubishi, no brainer.

  • all depends on how you plan to use it, little testicle monster.
Set to a thermostat? - mitsubish
    5 times a yeahre? - Akai

    • Well I'm selling the house within 6 months that it will be installed into….

Also I think you accidentally typed your Google search into the reply.

      little testicle monster.

      • Uhh yeah don't worry about that, that wasn't me.

It wasn't a simple question beforehand, but the fact that you're selling complicates things immensely.
If you're just asking if the Akai will last long enough for you to sell, then the answer is yes

Me personally? I'd get the mitsubishi. It has a $100 cashback on it which brings the price closer, and the good guys are having a store bonus special coming up

Why are you limiting yourself to Bunnings only? I'd get a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Daiken or Fujitsu.

    • Latest I heard was that the plain Mitsubishi was better than the Heavy Industries one.

    • That's all that is really available in my area… everywhere else locally in Launceston seems more expensive. I'm open to other viable options around that price range of $1200.

  • Choice didn't think much of that particular Mitsubishi HI model- "just ok" for cooling and heating efficiency and airflow. The SRK50ZMXA-S rated much higher.

  • Also I will be selling the house hopefully around Easter time next year, so it's really just to have a form of heating and cooling. It's pretty hard to sell a house without it!
