    Purchased.. but dear lord.. the Square Enix website is atrocious to order from.

    Please tell me why you need my home address for a digital product purchase..

    • tax?

      • +1

        Most likely - the AUS 'Netlflix' tax is going to become more and more widespread.

        Essentially all foreign entities supplying to Australian consumers will be required to withhold 10% GST on any sales from now on. ( They should be registered for GST under this scheme but i fail to see how they can track this against the small scale providers).

        Edited to add that the $1,000 threshold on imported physical goods is due to disappear soon as well, however this is going to be much harder for the government to administer. How on earth they intend to tax every product coming into the country when they can barely do it with items up to $5k at the moment is beyond me.

        • The new tax threshold is mostly targeting Kogan and other grey importers to improve their book keeping, not so much end users.

          Multinationals who operate in Australia but sell products through a foreign company and ship to AUS (Amazon.com.au vs Amazon.com) may be included but those cases will still mostly be through competitors dobbing them in.

        • @indemnity: I think Kogan/SS/Gearbest/BG/Everbuying are going to be screwed when they have to charge import tax. That was mostly what kept them competitive against AU stock. If you have to add GST on top of that, the price differential becomes small enough that you're better off getting local warranty.

  • You can easily use the US site with a (no tax) address and it even accepts your Aus credit card and Aus mobile number for verification if you want.

    I bought this game and five Final Fantasy games the other day from the US store and it was as simple as you could want.

    The best $5 you'll ever spend.

    • Agree.

      Fantastic game. Its bit like binge watching a new tv series, you have to see how it is going to end.

    Great game. Probably my favorite from last year. Wish I could experience it all again from scratch.

    Really good game, don't buy it if you don't like plot driven games.
    I would consider this more of an interactive story but my God is it a good story.

    • +2

      Does every choice come with real consequences or is it like Telltale where you have an illusion of choice but the consequences are always the same?

      • Without getting into spoilers, for pretty much the whole game the choices have ramifications.
        A decision I made in the first half hour had an impact in one of the final chapters.

        • +3

          How many endings are there?

        • -2

          @lostn:
          Spoilers man

        • +4

          @shanakatak: I don't see how much of a spoiler that could be since he's not asking you to tell him what the endings are, just how many there are.

          I'm also curious since I'll be buying it soon but I probably won't have time to play through all endings.

          @ChillBro:
          2 endings, but like mentioned below not every action has consequences.

          @shanakatak:

          Spoilers man

          Come on man. You yourself just said that choices have ramifications and one made in the first half hour impacted one of the final chapters. By simple logic, some of your decisions would affect the ending also. It's standard for choice based games to have branching paths or at least multiple endings.

          Thanks anyway. I'm a bit surprised at only two endings.

        • +1

          @lostn:
          The choices do affect the final chapter. Basically it works exactly who you would want right up until the ending. The whole thing feels like what you do really has a difference, except right at the end which is my only criticism.

        Some choices have consequences. Just don't go in thinking that it's the kind of game where every choice you make factors into something later on, it's not like that — you'll be bitterly disappointed if you hold on to that line of thought. In that respect, it's kinda like the Telltale series of games.

        IMHO it's a brilliant game with a fantastic and powerful story. I rate it up there along with The Last of Us as one of the best story-based games I've played. I obsessed about the story and the characters long after I finished it — always a sure sign of a good game.

          With TWD the only thing affected is dialog. There's no lasting consequences.

    Absolutely loved this game. Well and truly worth 5 dollarydoos.

  • bought the game with paypal, and it's still pending validation on my SE order page. I've already keyed in the verification code sent to my mobile via SMS. What gives?

  • Good game, but be warned that the games causes motion sickness in some players (myself included). If you are prone to motion sickness from video games, you should avoid this game.

    • -3

      If you're prone to motion sickness, why are you playing video games in the first place?

      • Only some games do that to me, mostly first person. I'm surprised a game like this can trigger motion sickness however.

        • Yes, I was really surprised by this as well. I rarely get motion sickness from playing games. That's why I think it is worth warning people about it.

        • @GreenLego: It mostly happens in games with headbob. And also VR.

          Your character's head is bobbing like it would in real life, but you are sitting still, and the brain is getting a disconnect between what it sees and what it feels, and something doesn't seem right to it. This is further aggravated in VR.

    • How the heck does this third-person, non-VR game cause motion sickness?

      • Exactly! That's why I was so surprised by it. It's a game type that I would never have thought would cause me motion sickness, but it does. Google for "Life is Strange" + "motion sickness" or something like that and you will see that I'm not alone in this. That's why I think it's worth the warning for people considering purchasing it. Players may not even consider that this will cause motion sickness because it seems so unlikely.

        • There's only one third person game that's ever given me motion sickness, and that's The Evil Within because for some stupid reason there is heavy head bobbing in that game whenever you move. There's no good reason for this unless you are seeing it from the view of a cameraman chasing your character, but there is no such person in the story.

    The story is exactly the same as Flashpoint.

    • +2

      The Jenna Jameson movie? Well I'm surprised by the M rating.

  • Thanks OP! I just finished EP1 and it was great fun.

  • +1

    Cheaper than purchasing on Steam? $4.99 USD = $6.71 AUD.

    • -3

      That's per episode.

      This deal is for all episodes.

      • +5

        That $4.99 USD price is for all episodes.

        But it does cost more than from SE's store.

  • Are these individual keys? I've already got the first episode.

    • The first episode is free. You probably didn't pay money for it.

  • For about 1 dollar more you can get it from Steam.

    EDIT: Ah did see the post above me.

  • Thanks OP. Hadn't heart of this and am now on Ep2 and enjoying it.

  • I'm overseas and am unable to make the store switch to AU pricing. Damn. This was on my radar.

  • Played this before. Loved it. Don't mind buying again
