Item Stolen from Me, Potentially Found It Listed, Best Course of Action?

An item was recently stolen from me, and I think I've found it listed on a classifieds site.

What's the best course of action?

I'm doubtful I kept track of the serial, but I emailed the original vendor to see if they held it for warranty purposes.

    No bikies option?

  • Maybe you should contact police and check with them?.More so, so you don't put yourself in a dangerous situation. Is it an item of high value and was it stolen from your house or elsewhere?

  • contact the police?

  • do you have a police report?

    First you'll need proof..

    1) That's it's yours;
    2) That you didn't just sell it/give it away, and now saying it's stolen.

  • Was your item marked in any way or do you have a photo of it?

Did you Register the Warranty with the Manufacturer?

Is it possible that someone else (innocently) has the same item and it just selling it?

arrange to meet in person to purchase it, take one of your big knuckle dragging motor cycle mates along with you.
examine the item, if indeed it's yours walk away and let the muscle do the talking.

you really needed a bbkies option on this one that's for sure

i had a similar thing happen to me years ago with a push bike. i rocked up at the guys house after answering an add in the newspaper, found he was selling my bike that was stolen a week earlier. i asked to take it for a test ride and never came back.

        karma

  • report seller to police.

Maybe ask the seller so he can give it back to you

    • Just curious, is that really you in the DP?

      • Yes

  • Just be aware that the seller may have bought the item from the thief at a bargain hoping to score a quick profit by re-selling so go easy until you know for sure. And then call the Bikies.

Did you report it stolen to start with?
