Question about AV Receivers and Multiple TV's

Is it possible to have a setup using 4 TV's with an AV Receiver, outputting different inputs to each TV at the same time, with ability to select audio from any of the inputs, and also, output one selected input to all 4 TV's so it appears to be one big TV?

I hope I have explained this OK.

Thanks.

    • Awesome, thanks so much.

  • Far out, what are you building??? The ultimate split-screen gaming setup?

    • Dreaming about a setup at home for watching anything and everything.

      • Still…………….that's pretty hardcore

        • I love my sports…… ;)

  • Most AV receivers have multiple zones. So you can watch a movie in one room and listen to music on other etc.
i dont think any receiver would be able to split on source across multiple tv's.
If its for movies you are better off with a projector.
If its for gaming you cannot use a receiver as it will introduce a huge delay making the game virtually unplayable.

    • Yeah, I read up on them before posting, and found out about zones, but that did not seem to allow for multiple and separate content on each TV, etc, in same room.
      Thanks.
The link djsweet provided gave the proper terminology I was looking for, video walls.
