Cashback mortgage brokers now that yourshare no longer in the market

I took out an ING mortgage via 'Yourshare.com.au' in Jan 2016 to get the brokerage refund. However, the mortgage broker that was originally working at Yourshare has since left and there is no-one currently actively managing Yourshare's home loan book.

As a result of stuffing around with them, I've missed out on the opportunity to lock in part of my mortgage at the 3.59% for 3 years rate that they were offering until last week. As a result, I'm considering switching brokers and lender and writing of the trail rebate that I've 'earned' so far. Who are the good brokers and lenders that ozbargainers are using at the moment? From memory there were a few brokers on here.

I'm looking at around $600k variable with full offset/redraw and $400k fixed, with the mix depending on how good the fixed rate is.

PS does anyone know if offset balance is taken into account when calculating trail commissions and rebates?

  • you're probably better off going with a broker that provides an upfront rebate.
And then switching once you have covered off the clawback period.

  • I switched to Giveback Home Loans earlier this year, and could not be happier. (search gbhl)
They offer 0.15% of the loan amount every month, paid yearly in December. So in your case, you will get a cheque close to $1500.

By the look of it, they do take the offset into account, so the payment is based on the overall 'balance'
