Great news to me. They have a systematic bullshit approach to warranty support. My experience is with the ACT store in Fyshwick. They may have the cheapest prices for a PC store locally but I have certainly paid the true cost of that cheapness with the lack of warranty support. I will never shop there again if I can avoid it. Maybe for someone else's build if I warn them beforehand and they still want to go ahead but from now on I'm ordering online only. Probably a mixture of PCCaseGear, ebay and amazon and similar. If I get something DOA or have other issues I can claim the return shipping costs back through Paypal.

Announced on December 1st 2016, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has instituted proceedings in the Federal Court against MSY. They allege that MSY Technology has misrepresented consumers’ rights to remedies for faulty products.
MSY have previously faced the ACCC in 2012 for the same sort of offences and were fined $203,500 for their actions between 2010 and early2012. The new action announced yesterday covers the period 2013 to February 2016.
So more news will appear down the line as to the result of the court proceedings against MSY but it is likely they will be fined again and potentially it will be a greater fine given the history.
What worries me is whether they'll be able to retain their low prices if penalised.
People should recall how things looked before MSY were in the market. It was them who brought the prices down everywhere and onwards thereafter for the consumer.
I dont know about ACT but in Sydney, things were fine without MSY.
Amazon is coming to Australia, and assuming if Amazon is getting into the electronics market we might see some competitive pressure hopefully.
in adelaide they are a godsend without them prices were a joke here :( now with stores closing the closest thing we got is allneeds and i know they will jack up prices if they can (they do it where they can)
