Dental Crown Re-Cementing Cost (Melbourne)

Hi All,

Unfortunately my dental crown is getting loose. Can anybody recommend a cheap dentist in Melbourne? How much would that approximately cost? I do not have private insurance and will have to pay for all. No Healthcare card, but part time student.

Could get free dental care back home, but wont be back before June next year.

Am no expert, however, If you have a filling underneath, you can live without the crown for few months (probably a whole year, if those particular teeth are not high used ones).

  • crowns can become loose for many reasons.

    1 decay
2 crack in the tooth underneath
3 failure of the core buildup underneath
    4 failure of the cement
5 failure of the actual crown

is the tooth alive or dead ?
how long since the crown was done?

why are you avoiding going back to the original dentist?

  • The crown was done during my travels in Thailand in 2009. Filled tooth broke off. Not sure if the tooth is alive or dead, most likely dead.
Probably decay, terrible taste and breath…

    • Did you take any treatment ? And how much it costed. I also have a similar issue but the cap was on a root canaled tooth and is a dead tooth. Prolly just need mine cemented back.

      • Mine was cracked and could not be re-cemented. It had to be extracted, cost me around $200

  • where do you live? go to a dentist asap
