Apple Store Buy/Use/Return

Hi all,

I have a mate who claims he purchased something from the Apple Store (I think a Macbook…), used it for video ediitng for a uni assignment, then returned it 3 weeks later claiming that the laptop just wasn't the right fit for him.

He said that because of their 60 day satisfaction guarantee, he wasn't asked any questions.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is there such thing as a 60 day satisfaction guarantee? And does it apply to any of the DJI Products that Apple sells?

Thanks

    • Yep. 14 days. Only exceptions are their holiday returns policy. Can't remember exactly when it starts, but it gives you like 14 days after Christmas to return it.

Yes it is 14 days, but abusing a generous returns policy is a pretty low thing to do, regardless if it's from a small mom & pop business, or the worlds largest corporation.

I would argue that buying a computer/drone with the full intention of using it and returning it is effectively stealing. Don't do whatever you are about to do.

I appreciate your 2 cents. I don't have the guts to do that to be quite frank. It crossed my mind, but the purpose of posting on Ozb was just to see if it is indeed true.

I'm not going to do that though.

    • Apple return policy is generous ?

Hahah what a joke from a company that has a phone system for returns that forces you to go thru at a minimum 5 levels of experts just to try and get a refund.

Funny how they dont make you wait hours to BUY smething but if you try and return they waste HOURS on the phone.

I have bought a Surface from the Microsoft store in Sydney. I used it for a day before realising it wasn't right for me. I returned it for a full refund. I was however intending to keep it, and returned it in the same condition I bought it, minus opening the seals.
