Bluetooth Earphones Recommendation

Hi everyone, i'm requesting Ozbargain's collective experience to help me decide on a pair of bluetooth earphones.

The main issue i'm having is that they all seem to stick out of the ears a lot, which is an issue for me. The one pair I have identified that don't (Jaybird Freedom) have a measly 4 hour internal battery life.

Does anyone know of any pairs that don't stick out of the ears so much and have a larger internal battery (ideally 6+ hours).

EDIT: They can't be a neckband style, or the over-ear 'loop' style ones.

Thanks OZB!

Does it have to be bluetooth in the earphones. Consider a receiver style and you can plug in any small slim earphones.

    • I don't think receiver has any real benefits to regular earphones. You still have long earphones cable, and need to reach for the receiver unit to do anything.

      • Each to their own, but having it clipped on a shirt collar with a shorter 30cm cable earphone is pretty different to running a cable all the way to something like your trouser pockets.

  • What are you using one for? Running or commuting?

If you are using it for commuting, those neckband style ones (like LG one) wouldn't be too bad and they'd have more battery than something like Jaybird one would. Battery and bluetooth receiver need to be somewhere and they usually are in the earphone units.

Other than that, I think BeatsX seem to have a small unit and they seem to have batteries on the sides and they are claiming 8 hours of battery life. That said, I don't think it has been released yet, so there is that.

There probably are more examples of those, but those are all I can think of currently.

    • I would like to use for both running and commuting ideally, so the neckband style ones don't really work.

The BeatsX look nice, but they appear to also function like a neckband pair.

If you think of any others please let me know!

      • You'd have a hard time looking for one since those bluetooth receiver and battery needs to go somewhere.

Anyways good luck with your search.

  • Purchased these for my wife (for her iphone 7) when the first 2 sets of Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 where DOA.
