Dr Marten 1461 3 Eyelet Men's Black Shoes AUD $188.17

40

There are many styles/colours/types of leather of Dr Marten 1461 shoes some with yellow stitching, some without.

As far as I can tell this shoe is usually around $229 in Australia so there are some savings.

A good deal I also found on the site (28% off) - http://www.shoes.com/mens-dr-martens-1461-3-eye-shoe-black-p… is the Dr Marten 1461 black pebble shoe at $147.31 including shipping (and 8% off with Cashrewards). At Platypus Shoes it is around $249 (less 9% on Cashrewards) or $200 on ASOS site.

I got doc boots for au$130 when exchange rate was in parity (shoebuy) Best boots ever. These ones will last me at least a few generations I reckon.

    • I have a pair I bought four years ago and had to replace them because I had worn them too much and the sole wore through.

Unfortunately this is not a good price for non vintage Dr. Martens. I have about 40 pairs of Docs from Vintage(made in England) to the newer throw aways. I call them throw aways as I have worn them out in a year. I took my favourite one year old Dr. Martens Men's Saxon 939 Boots (AUS $77.50)non vintage to my local Doc Marten repairer as the soles had worn out and cracked. He said these non vintage are not made for repairing, you wear them out and go buy a new pair. He also did not have any Doc Marten soles left in my size as they are no longer made available for purchase to shoe repairers. I wear them for gardening now as it is cheaper to buy a new pair as I normally pay from $50 to $120 AUS a pair. Just looked at Amazon UK and US at the moment you can get them cheaper etc. The Vintage are now harder to get at a realistic price. I might pay that much for the Vintage(12877001)but not for the others.

  • Thanks for the tip AUD $50 cheaper !

I know most of Dr Martens are made in China with only a few being made in UK (the Vintage). In the old days they used to be able to re-sole Dr Marten boots but its not longer possible as they arent releasing/making the replacement soles.

    I just tried Amazon 1461 Black Nappa US $78.80 (AUD $100.87 + $28.29 postage = $138.16).

    • I've had soles replaced. They did an amazing job and it cost almost nothing. Brilliant. But not good for making money!
