Fellas,
I'm looking for genuine and best deals on Raspberry Pi 3. I have developed some interest on that motherboard and spend my time on it than boozing at home :P

  • Element14 is the go. They're a genuine reseller and ship to you from Australia. There are so many dodgy Chinese fakes out there.

    • There are fakes? They had them made in China to keep up with demand.

      • China makes cheap alternatives hardware for big brands and also fakes.

        • Yes, but I've yet to see a fake rpi3.

    • I also see good deals on Gearbest. Cant we trust them too?

      • I bought the one from them, no issues.

        • They have Chinese version and ENG Version. I'm not quite sure of the what they are!

        • @Sowny: I have both ENG and CHN version, they both are good.

        • @boomramada: I see. But the good thing about Element 14 is next day delivery 📦

        • @Sowny: Yep, so you can play SNES for XMAS ;)
while you at it, get a PS3/PS4 controller as well :)

        • @boomramada: Why not XB1 controller?

        • @Gaggy:
I only tested with PS3/PS4 controllers and work well for me for PS games in Pi.

          For other controllers :

        • @boomramada: Thanks. I have never used PS remotes and played once at friend's place and didn't like it. It might be because I have been using XB remotes for long.
I would also love to have a retro game box for kids room I saw somewhere. It looks super awesome.

        • @Gaggy:

Very easy to setup, copy the image into a SD card (comes with some basic games but you can download more as you wish), add to the PI , use your usb/wireless keyboard to configure the basic settings, then setup your controller. Took about few min to setup the PS3 controller, hopefully same with XB controller.
Once you get bored, you can use PI for other purposes ;)

        • @boomramada: Haha. Thanks. Games, Media player, robot,…. endless options.

        • @Gaggy: Thanks mate!
I have been using XBOX controllers since 5 years so I will stick to it ;) How about he memory card? What's the best SD card and how big it should be to a avoid lags while playing Kodi and Retro games?

        • @Sowny: Sorry Boomramada or someone would be able to answer. I have not used Pi and thinking to do that in future with few projects.
I would be buying the cheapest on for 64 or 128 GB based on your requirements.

  • Itead have them for US$40

Did this really require it's own thread?

    • You mean the Pi or this topic on Ozbargain?
