Anyone Know if The Jetstar Flight Got Cancelled, Where Should I Go to Do The Complaining?

It was so disappointed abt Jetstar.

Im gonna fly with them to singapore trm. Before I go to bed, I just wanna do web check in for fun.And find trm flight has been cancelled!
Unitl now, I did not get any notifications, though the jetstar phone service claim they send me txt msg.

They only offer me the flight which inl. one stop at perth and will take me 22 hours, or change to Monday flight. And refuse to refund me for accommodation booking and other lost.

So I booked with Singapore airliner first, and I was wondering is their any department that I can send email to make a complain and force them to paid what they owe us? They cancelled both 3rd and 4th Dec flights. Pretty sure Im not the only victim.

  • They will not pay you compensation as they have offered you a flight to get you out of your bind. They don't care if it doesn't suit your needs, just as long as they've offered it. That's all a LCC has to do (Low Cost Carrier)

    Please just ring your travel insurance company and make a claim, you normally get your money back within 7-14 days.

    • Last time my flight got delayed 20 mins by Jetstar, I just told them it didn't suit me (I was planning on cancelling the trip and forgoing the ticket) and they just refunded me.

      • So you were at the airport, they delayed you 20 min so you cancelled your ticket?

        • Oh nah. Was a few days before the flight and got an email

      all airlines cancel flights. Even that one that has had 19 fatal crashes(Qantas) & on some routes there is no alternative, except go day later or day earlier.

      3 years ago, I was booked on Qantas nonstop Brisbane to LA. They cancelled it a few days out & offered us option via Sydney, which added 7 hours to trip(3 kids involved) so instead we went day before.

      • Qantas have had 19 fatal crashes? I assume you are talking computer crashes as Qantas has never had a fatal accident.

          you must believe the movies(dangerous). Qantas has had 19 fatal crashes but only 35 deaths, unlike much higher toll with Air NZ & U.S. airlines.

          • Qantas landed on a Bangkok golf course & wheels fell off aircraft at Rome.

          @reggae:

          I guess you are technically correct, however we aren't in the 50's anymore.

          "Now, technically Qantas hasn’t had a perfect record. Qantas has had 12 fatal crashes in its history, including two shoot-downs during World War II. That said, all of the crashes occurred before 1952 and involved propeller-driven aircraft.

          Since then, Qantas has had a stellar safety record: no accident fatalities and no “hull loss” accidents — when the aircraft is damaged beyond economic repair. This is a incredible safety record for an airline that currently carries nearly 50 million passengers per year.

          Not only has Qantas had a flawless record for more than 64 years, but it’s also the reigning “world’s safest airline” for the third year running.

        • @dazzywazzy: 19 fatal crashes not 12.

          The crash at Bangkok - cost more to repair in China, than hull was worth.

          Do you work in Qantas's PR department, (which is extremely dodgy, in bending the facts)

          @reggae: Don't work for Qantas mate, and have no problem with you stating facts, just want everyone to know the back story that all the fatal accidents happened prior to 1952 when planes were substandard.

          "While Qantas has never had a fatal jet airliner accident, the Australian national airline suffered several losses in its early days before the widespread adoption of the jet engine in civilian aviation.[1] These were mainly biplanes or flying boats servicing routes in Queensland and New Guinea.[2] The incidents between 1942 and 1944 were during World War II, when Qantas Empire Airways operated on behalf of the military.[3] While strictly speaking not accidents, the shooting down of G-AETZ and G-AEUH is included for completeness. In 2014, Qantas was rated the world's safest airline by Airline Ratings."

          Also it's 12 Fatal accidents prior to 1952 according to WIKI - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Qantas_fatal_accidents

          @dazzywazzy: wikipedia ?

        • @reggae: Look, I can see you're one of those that won't stop no matter what, so happy to leave it as it is.

          Cheers for the discussion.

        • @dazzywazzy: you should never ever quote wikipedia as a source. A Fed pollie did that a few months ago, & got laughed out of parliament.

          You can save any crap of wiki & good chance it will be published.

  • If the alternative they suggested does not suit they will give you a refund. As for the accomodation etc, you have no hope of getting that out of them. That's where travel insurance comes in handy.

    • Stay away from woolworths insurance. My jetstar flight on the day got delayed then cancelled so I put in a claim for the one night lost accommodation at my destination.but they claimed that they won't cover for it. Apparently their policies will only take care of refunding for additional accommodation in case of cancelled flights. I.e. you have to stay an extra night instead of getting home. Not surprisingly airliners already cover for it whether it be an LCC or full service.

      Anyone here managed to put in a successful claim?

      • Well that sucks! I hope you found somewhere to leave an online revoew?

    Claim on travel insurance - that's why you buy it.
