Cheap dress watches

Hi everybody,

Looking to get a couple of cheap, yet nice looking dress watches. Have come across some on Amazon sub $30. Ideally looking for a lot of stainless steel, simple face, 100m water resist. Also want them to be name brand, so I'm looking at Casio or Seiko etc.

Some so far

Edit: Should mention, these will be stocking stuffers for Xmas. I'm set with my own watches.

  • Something like this if it was back in stock?

  • Not sure I would consider Casio a name brand, and you might need to go a bit higher to get something worthwhile.

    eg https://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BI1030-53A-Stainless-Steel-Br…

  • Good place to start - Jomashop - has something for all price points.

    Recommend that you look at the Timex area - good quality watches at reasonable prices.

    However, if you have a 100 AUD price point - you'd be surprised at how one classic good watch can supplement most outfits easily. Steel band, silver with a white face will almost universally go with any outfit and still make it look like you have something classy and expensive on without breaking the bank.

  • if you'd posted this a few weeks ago then I'd have recommended aliexpress.

      This is much better, for a little bit more.
      I have one personally, and it goes great with straps like my Army Green (with compass), Adventure Brown Leather, and Black Strap.
      It has a nice Retro looks, functional ….and

      As for watch brands, you're really looking at Japanese models.
      European watches at these price points generally just aren't as well made, or well featured.
      And Chinese watches are more miss than hit.

      The brands: Casio, Citizen, Orient, Seiko are best.
      There's also Megir, a Chinese brand, that's affordable but not cheap.

      If you're looking for a "smart" watch then you have some (pricier) options:
      * Microsoft Band 2 (best sleek)
      * Garmin Vivoactive HR (best smart-fitness-watch)
      * Pebble Time Steel (best pebble)
      .
      * Gear S2 (some love it, for me its quite meh)
      * Apple Watch 2 (best for iOS)
      .
      * ASUS ZenWatch 2 (best all-rounder, square)
      * LG Urbane (great all-rounder, circle)
      * Huawei Watch (best luxury)

    I ended up buying the timex from a deal not long ago (seems to be basically the same price) then just bought a leather "cough cough" strap from Daiso for $2.80 and couldn't be happier.

    This may just be a matter of personal taste, but I find a good leather strap to be much nicer than any steel band on a dress watch.

    The other positive of something like the timex is that it can be mixed up with a colourful nato strap for more casual occasions as well.

    Also, whilst not a dress watch, I would recommend a seiko snk807 as a nice watch. I have one with a blue face and brown leather band which goes very well together. A slightly more military style, but still a nice watch with a decent movement, and very good as a beater watch. And it can be had for sub $100 as well online
