Worst pizza experiences

I was curious to see what experiences people had with pizza chains, I'll share afew of mine.

Eagle boys: bought a cheese pizza for my niece, half of it had sauce the other half didn't. Wtf eagle boys.

Dominos: changed chef best to a Hawaiian, tasted of cheese and base, so few ingredients we made a game of naming them.(literally 8 prices of pineapple)

Pepperoni pizza always has burnt pepperoni.

If it's late at night 9:30ish they just say oh we ran out, so we just left it off…

Lol beef and onion no onion anyone?

On a plus cos I'm not all doom and gloom the chefs best meat lovers change red onion for lamb add Parmasan, oregano and spring onion is like a hard 9/10 3/7 times I've ordered it, if they would just do it well I'd pay full wack and never order a different pizza.

Only gripe on pizza hut is sometimes they are oily but I like em still.

Pizza capers I can only eat in town, the 15 Min drive home makes base soggy. Top marks for customer service though, I mentioned it and the owner lent me the delivery bag the drivers use to take home, sadly it did not fix it.

Lol be sure to vote for the business you think does worst. (it's all abit of fun) also comment if I missed anyone.

Edit: I invited Don meji to reply ceo of dominos, so I hope he visits :)

I'd have also invited Eagleboys but they are in receivership aren't they?

    All are garbage!

Make your own pizza or eat wood fired pizza.

    • My local woollies does a reasonable bake at home one, that said home made is great!

Making pizza at home from scratch is really easy.
you know what you are putting in it and sense of completion/achievement is added bonus.

        • Ever tried Jamie Oliver's pizza pie recipe? The sauce in that is great,

          1 can tomatos
          2 garlic clove
          Oregano
          Vinegar from jalapeno jar.

          Food process and use.

        • @Slippery Fish:

          I follow this one.
ITs very easy and pizza's come out great.

However, I have an Uuni so I can the wood fired taste at home :)

Edit - Sorry just realised you were talking about the sauce :)
          I want Pizza NOW!!!

best pizzas are from your old school typical corner pizza joint, might be a bit more expensive, but quality over quantity yo!

Last time I was on holidays I ordered a family pizza, figured I'd eat it all. Cost me like $23 but I could only eat 4 of the 12 prices it had so much topping o.O.

Had to put em on a plate in the little bar fridge, it fed me 4 meals haha.

  • I haven't ordered dominoes for several years now, as last time it took 2.5hrs to come and was cold when it arrived. I complained, but they didn't care. Unfortunately it was prepaid via the website.

This was on a standard saturday night, and obviously didn't have enough staff, or staff going MIA. Still, I'd expect an excuse not just we're sorry it happened.

I should have complained to social media, but decided I'd rather boycott them and go for the local gourmet pizza shop which is much better anyway.

        and grease…

      • Yeah - I tend to stay away from those pizzas. No idea why they do it. You can always ask them not to put it on 'em of course.

    • Agreed - although I would note that they can vary between shops. We have two near us, and one is ordinary and the other good. The main gripe I would have is they are not cheap, but joining the VIP program means that we do get discounts/free pizza regularly.

  • Had the worst food poisoning ever from Pizza Haven. I honestly thought that I might die. Just looked them up and saw that they were bought out by Dominos/Eagle Boys a few years ago, good riddance.

    • Our local one when I was a kid did a pretty killer meat lovers :)

      • It was a meat lovers that I ordered and it felt pretty "killer" later that night and the next couple of days.

So…. no one's gonna say anything about the Costco Pizza ??
    It is awesome.
    And their buffalo wings… =D
You can also get drinks right outside the store for unlimited refills.

Wouldn't mind some IKEA meatballs and Lindenberry.
Or the good 'ol Bunning's $1 snag and $1 Coke can.

    • bunnings snag for $1 ?

our local has them for $2.50 and cans of drink for $2.50

      • Inflation…

      • Ours are $2 a can 2.50 a snag, but it's for a charity so who cares :)

  • Back when Dominos had their bad staff (attitude) I scored some rough ones but they seem to have lifted their game these days and staff are not so slack.

  • This was about 5 years ago but went to my local dominos. We ordered about 6 pizzas and picked them up. Took them home and we all started eating them. My ex's mother was eating her pizza when she bit into hair. A few seconds later we took a closer look and it was as if someone had pulled out as clump and baked it into the pizza. I'm talking a hand full of blonde hair literally baked into it. It was on 2 other pizzas as well but more strands. We drove all the pizzas back to dominos and demanded a refund to which the guy behind the counter said "how do I know you didn't put the hair in there" at first he refused a refund but my ex at the time nearly jumped over the counter. All 6 pizzas were refunded and I still haven't eaten there again.

There was a badly-executed short-lived "all you can eat pizza" session on Friday nights at a take away store in a local shopping centre years ago.

We were told that it wasn't per slice, you had to order what pizzas you wanted and they made them to order and brought them to your table. We were the only ones in there for about 45 mins and it was quite awkward as they watched us and waited. We felt compelled to finish each pizza of a single flavour.

This effectively meant we wouldn't order another pizza/flavour (all you can eat!), as the first one filled us up pretty well.

The other thing was that they used really cheap tasty cheese so the pizzas were awful.

    • First and only Eagle Boys delivery and all the pizzas were smooshed up against one side of their boxes, like the driver had hooned around every corner.
    • First and only ordering of chicken wings from Dominos and the 10(?) pack that I ordered was just a 5 pack. Complained online but didn't get a reply.
    • Years ago, local pasta place that sold tasty, cold pasta dishes that you heated up at home along with refrigerated garlic ciabatta loaves. Ordered a feast for us and some friends. Heated the loaf in the oven, opened the foil, and WOW! this is new, it's a garlic and mushroom butter loaf! Each cut looked like it had been spread with a mushroom pate. Then I realised it must have been moldy, and when it was baked, the green mold turned grey. GROSS! Got a refund next day.

Several years ago, we took my very elderly mother to a newish pizza pasta place in her suburb which is an up and coming trendy place. In a misguided attempt to have their customers eating healthily, the garlic bread was made on wholemeal bread and dry as dry. As were there pizza bases, no choices there. Now, I do eat wholemeal bread, but I don't need it shoved down my throat, literally. The worse was the ham and pineapple innocuous pizza my mother ordered. It was a bit spicy when I tasted it, so when I went inside to pay, I casually asked the person who had mostly ignored us all night - the service was pretty bad. She said oh yes, the chef puts chili in the tomato base. How rude is that! It was hot for me and what about children and not to mention the elderly. I was incensed. Surprisingly, they are still operating, but we haven't been back.

    • Lol I put jalapeno vinegar in mine, but I wouldn't do that for others.

  • dominoes have to be the worst out of all of them, the pizzas they produce considering all other places have to be the worst for price without the pizza coupon code. The quality of the ingredients is terrible, the size of the pizza is small and the amount of ingredients and cheese is lackluster. Only time i purcahse form dominoes is with 50% off.

  • should have an all of the above option

  • Dominos is like 1/3 the price of other pizzas in my area at the same size.. Its hard to choose some days unless i feel like their more expensive pizzas
