Ridgeback 27.5" Dual Suspension Mountain Bike $99

Are these the ones with the "not for off road use" sticker on the frame ?

    • +2

any mtb at this price point would be absolutely dangerous to ride virtually any off-road riding with…poor brakes, gears, wheels, poorly assembled etc etc

  • +1

These are going to be terrible, right? So cheap!

    • it has 5 star reviews on the link…

    • +5

worse than terrible…you buy it ride it once, hate it, sits in your garage degrading and then youll hard waste it in 2-3 years. thats how terrible…

  • +1

tbh…..these look to be made very poorly from very low quality components. too heavy for recreational riding, useless suspension & not designed to be ridden off road. better off spending some more & getting a decent low end/entry level bike…

  • +2

what about for just riding casually on weekends with the missus round the burbs?

    • if you're handy with jury rig fixing then yep, go for it

    • +1

It'd probably work fine for a few years just riding like that, but you don't want rear suspension for that. You lose to much peddle energy through the shock.

    • +2

Even a basic kmart bike would be better, e.g.

Or try to stretch to $199 for Reid Cycles.
Never get a cheap full-suspension bike.

Should be ok for extreme downhill.

…that was one of the best mtb vids ive seen. that guy is nuts and just the crunching sounds of the components breaking &groaning…so funny :D

Comments above notwithstanding, Amex card holders can get $20 off $70 making this bike $79 and possibly $74 with Monty's deal.

This may also stack with SCA club night credits tomorrow ($15 store credit from $100 spend) however you would need to add more small items to reach the $100.

  • good deals

  • They dont sell these apprently … only online only

    • It is available in store, just check other nearby ones.

      • Sorry… All SOLD in WA

        • +2

No, they are plenty sold in the eastern states as well.

        • @llama:

Nope!… still sold out in WA

        • @bonky:

What do you mean "nope". I can assure you that these were (are) definitely sold on the Eastern States, and that they were not "all sold in WA".

          (Read what you wrote)

        • @llama:

you said "No, they are plenty sold in the eastern states 'as well.'"

Im saying they are all sold out in WA

          read what you wrote!

  • Nice BSO

  • Anyone gonna buy this stinkin piece o junk?
Just pay the $99 directly to me and save yourself from a broken neck

  • Cheap ride. Tubes might perish quicker. Gears will need to be maintained regularly. Rear axle might buckle.

  • +1

Guaranteed you could buy a better one for the same price 2nd hand off GT.

  • +1

To be fair, if you were thinking "hmm better get some exercise. How about a bike?" and then spend $800, ride it once, and then leave it in the garage, this bike WILL SAVE YOU $701!!

  • Was thinking the polygon Siskiu D6 dual sus at $1200 may be a bit too cheap ( https://www.bicyclesonline.com.au/2017-polygon-siskiu-d6-dua…)
OP just saved me $1100 😉
