      Found broden.

You can download them in full and keep a backup, this way you're not reliant on activation servers or similar if you want to play the game in the future.

      • thanks for the info…. i dont know why somebody downvoted my comment tho…

        • +1

probably because you want to sell something that is 'free'

        • +1

@gizmomelb: I have a bunch of games on steam that i dont play, and cant sell because they are locked to my account. If this worked by transferring the licence from 'steam locked' to 'open' then i dont see whats wrong with tradeing or selling. If it doesnt work that way (which it sounds like) , then no, i dont intent to trade or sell.

        • @dcarbonetti: hey same… but that's the present and the future - PC and console games, music, videos etc. are all tied to your account and cannot be sold / gifted / given to your children. Give it another few years and I expect a pay per use for the digital media to be common as well. Every time you play a game, listen to a song etc. a micro-transaction goes to the publisher.

  • Thanks Op:)

This is the message I got after linking the accounts :(

    "ACCOUNTS CONNECTED
Looking for eligible games. Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience. "

I have set my Steam profile as Public.

  • please ignore :)

  • Thanks! A couple more for my collection (Tropico and Ball)

  • Added Limbo and Witcher 1 to my GOG collection, which if nothing else is good as a backup.

Pity GOG Galaxy is slow and buggy, otherwise I'd make even use of their services

  • I still don't get it. So you add it to your library but then what do you do with it? Can I download it as an image so I have a physical backup or something?

    • +2

You can download the DRM-free setup files to install whenever you like, rather than needing to be online with Steam.

It gave me a game I already had in my Steam library. GG

    • +5

      That is the entire point…

      • -2

Then it isn't free, is it? It's just DRM free. I admit to not reading carefully, but still, title is misleading.

        • +1

Well, that depends upon your perspective. Here's mine: Yes, I bought (well actually they were all free giveaways found here on OzB!) some games on Steam, and now I get a DRM-free copy of the game for FREE. Now tell me where can you get a FREE DRM-free version of those games GOG just gave you? Or, just look at it like a delayed BOGOF. :)

        • @MiniMoo:

It's still not a FREE DRM-free game. You have to buy the game or otherwise obtain it legitimately. The title says "Free DRM-Free games".

  • Thanks more free GOG games. yay
