    sendle.com

    $18.75 for 10kg

    • Lovin sendle. Book it online, drop it outside your front door, bills your credit card a week later

If you want, you can enter dimensions and weight during booking, it will select the correct option for you (or just find the quote part of the website)

      • I've had nothing but a garbage experience with Sendle. Once they delivered to number 2 instead of number 26 on my street and another time the driver forged my signature and left an extremely expensive parcel sitting at my door.

For heavy items that are not too large, Officeworks mailman is $20. Aus Post gouge you for every kilogram or half.

      "1.001 Kgs!! - sorry that's an extra $10" - aust post probably

      • Fastways normally at OW.

      • Even worse for Aus Post is their new airmail pricing where 2 x 500 grams is cheaper than 1kg. They have the stupidest reverse economies of scale. Buyers on ebay expect a postage discount and Aus Post charge extra or separate shipping.

  • www.transdirect.com.au lets you get a quote from multiple couriers at once. I use it for business sometimes (interstate).

  • Great info thank you

  • I used sendle the other day to send a motorcycle tyre from Melbourne to Perth (didn't even box it haha just taped the label to it..). So far the experience has been great. It was $24.75 I believe.. Auspost wanted about $120 for the same thing. Will deffaz always use them from now on for anything large-ish.

Recently got a large piece of machinery (55kg) 2.1m long from Adelaide to Gold Coast on Virgin Australia cargo for $300 (standby rate). It arrived the next day.
Otherwise was quoted nearly $800 by road, which had to go via Melb, Syd, Bris to GC.

    Who'd've thunk it ?

    • Do they handle transport from their facility to yours at either end?

      • No, I arranged a local courier to pick up the machine from the seller. It needed 2 men to lift it into the van. (Cost = $44. probably could have done better)
The driver then took it to the airport (cargo handling centre) and quoted the air bill number I had pre-arranged and paid for with Virgin Cargo.
Once it arrived here, I got a call from the Cargo handling shed and picked it up myself with my receipt.

Direct flight ADL-OOL - no offloading and reloading in Sydney. Very happy.
