Help Me Get a Good Smartphone in The Range $200 to $400 AUD

Hi Guys,

Could you please help me in getting a new smartphone in the range 200 to 400 AUD for my partner?

Sorry, I am not interested in brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Oneplus though they are making great budget phones. So its only Samsung,Apple, HTC, Sony, LG and may be Huawei.

I would like good camera and audio, decent performance as she will use youtube, facebook, whatsapp, skype and other video calling apps.

I prefer australian stock as i need it within 3 to 4 days (can consider grey stock if they can send it within 4 days). My bad i missed the ebay 10%, 20% discount sales!

Also please advise me of any good reputable sellers apart from mobileciti, jbhifi, harvey norman, good guys and officeworks (as i only know about these stores)

    I came to recommend Xiaomi, sorry I don't know much about other new phones.

    Just get a Galaxy S5, or an iPhone. Both will hold their value very well when it's time to upgrade.

    I cannot recommend the Motorola G4 enough (Office Works and Harvey Norman carry it at least). It's an amazing phone for the price.
    Moto are not on your "naughty" or "nice" lists, so I don't know what you make of it.

    Moto seem to make some of the toughest screens in the game: Here's me dropping my G3 down the player's race at Manuka oval:

    ~10 feet drop onto concrete without a case. The casing has couple of noticeable dents in it, but the screen is literally unscratched. Sort-of lands on its side then comes to a rest face-down.

    It's also a very "pure google" experience.

      I think you just got lucky with the drop, as that phone was just Gorilla Glass 3 protected but has nothing in the way of shock protection.

      If you're looking for a shatterproof phone, didn't Motorola release the Moto X force? (although regretably the 5-layer screen protection does mean you sacrifice some image quality)

      I can also recommend the Moto G4. I think I might prefer it over my Galaxy S5, as the S5 has so much bloat and a wifi bug that makes the phone a little annoying to use as a daily driver.
