  • Highly suggest you trial it first in-store or at a mates house. Everyone is different but after an hour I wanted to throw up.

I've seen video reviews. It's terrible compared to the Vive, but it definitely is the cheapest way to get into VR gaming. Basically, what you said in your original post.

I personally think VR is in its infancy. There isn't a must-have title out there, so personally, I'll be waiting for the prices to drop or an extremely compelling game to play in VR.

  • Definitely try it first. I've had an Oculus DK2 and a Gear VR, the Oculus made me want to throw up regardless of what I'm using it for whereas the Gear VR only some first person games made me sick.

  • No.

  • I bought an HTC Vive at launch. The day one experience of VR is mind blowing, but after that it wears off rapidly because the games are kind of one-off experiences rather than full addictive games. Sold it after a month. I didn't get motion sickness myself but some do. Didn't try PlayStation VR but Gear VR feels like half the (already low) resolution and half the frame rate. And neither has the room-scale walking around experiences that are so great in Vive.

  • Still tossing up between Playstation VR and Vive

      Why not buying both??

  • Wow! A lot of negative comments. I own it and it is fantastic! Much better than DK2 which did cause me to get sick. Haven't had any of those issues with PSVR. Move controls are fine (although not as good as vive). The biggest downside is the lack of games at the moment but it has only been out for 3 months. Highly recommend it if you have $500+ disposable cash but I would recommend testing first if possible. Also check out the psvr subreddit.
