Dyson Fan, Which One to Get ?

Hey guys

Weather in sydney is just going off the chart at the moment!

I have decided it's time for me to invest in a Dyson fan!

Can i please get some options from existing users ?

My friend might get me a discount on the purifier hot&cold fan, but I don't really care much about the cold in winter! (Can't stand the heatttt)

Thanks in advance!

I'm an idiot for buying the AM05 Hot/Cold.. didn't even occur to me that you can't adjust height or angle. Annoying. My fault!

Just buy an industrial fan. Dyson fans are great, but nothing beats the big metal ones from Bunnings. They make a lot of noise, though.

I've been in the same boat as you, wanting a fan for the hot summer. I tried them out in store and they kinda suck for their price range.

Research led me to air circulators instead to make a room cooler. I bought the Vornado 660 @ HN with the Amex $100 off offer. I'm using it now and pretty happy with it.

Dyson fans are less powerful than conventional fans. They are quite effective in winter but very ineffective in summer unless you also have a air con.

  • Agree our Dyson sucks in summer.
However once we bought the vornado will never go back

  • Don't worry, it's much cooler today so you wont need a fan now.

  • agree with air circulators..

I also have a high velocity fan from kambrook that works well we use that to circulate hot air out of a room or to move cool air across a hallway.

we also have a dyson for the kids room. safer for my crawling 8 month old. it's not heavy if it tips over and no blades for little hands and they can sit right in front of it.

  • We have a Dyson pedestal fan in our bedroom. It's quiet but doesn't blow as much air as cheaper bladed fans I've had in the past. It is perfect for bedrooms but I wouldn't have one in my living room. It's just not powerful enough. We use a cheap box fan from Woolies instead!
