Buying a Phone from Nextbuying

I recently purchased a phone from nextbuying on the 20th of nov 2016 during their black friday sales, i decided to purchase a faster delivery plan on top to receive the phone within 7 working days. 3 days after purchasing the device, nextbuying aftersales did not even provide me with a tracking number nor confirmation email until after i had emailed them about 3 times asking for it. They did responded with a tracking number and told me that the device would arrive within 2 weeks (projected to arrive dec 2). After monitoring the device on their provided tracking service, i saw that it was floating around chullora parcels facility for a few days so i decided to call Australia Post to enquire why this was the case. AusPost has then informed me that the delivery address provided to them was incorrect (not sure how, because i had double checked with them before hand and used a standard paypal checkout which has my correct delivery address) so they had to return the device back to the sender, i email Nextbuying notifying them that they had gotten my address wrong and that AusPost was returning the device back to them, their aftersales team finally respond after i sent them repeated emails telling them there was an error. After this i had noticed that the device was floating around another parcel facility this time, Mayfield West. I call AusPost up again to enquire why it had not been returned to the sender and they informed me that they had gotten both MY address wrong and THEIR address wrong and that they couldn't do anything to do anything until NextBuying had updated a new return address. I emailed them 3 times once again before i got a reply from them where they told me that they had updated a new return address. The device returned to them on tuesday and i was told the device would ship out again soon but after a few days of no emails from nextbuying i have requested a refund with paypal because i was just sick and tired of the whole thing. As to my surprise a receive a credit memo email from nextbuying minutes later after opening up a dispute! They have also nicely taken it upon themselves to charge me a $19.64 "adjustment fee" for getting a refund???? What kind of dodgy company does shit like this?

  • 1) you ordered at the probably busiest time of year, so mistakes and delays are more likely to happen
    2) you're just unlucky with the whole wrong address thing, you'd probably be at least a content, if not totally happy about the shipping delays, camper but for that
    3) you're covered by Paypal so relax

    4) How can they charge you an adjustment fee if you paid by Paypal?
Or have they just sent you an invoice for one?

    • they sent me a credit memo with a deduction of 19.64 for an 'adjustment fee' i've never heard of this but knowing their customer support, i won't get a reply back when i enquire about it

      • So you can ignore it and continue down the claims path with Paypal.

  • anyone else heard of an 'adjustment fee' ?

  • Sorry for inconviencing you !
