Bought a Simplecom brand USB 3.0 card reader from MSY a few weeks ago. Im encountering a weird problem on multiple devices and PCs. When plugged into USB 3.0 it continuously but randomly keeps disconnecting/disappearing then reconnecting straight after, in the middle of file transfers.
It works fine on USB 2.0 Slots but its a USB 3.0 Card Reader and that's the reason I bought it. Its only a cheap one.
I didn't bother contacting MSY but contacted Simplecom from their website, They have been excellent and sent out a replacement which I really appreciated . Unfortunately the problem is identical with the replacement. They claim they've never heard of this issue but I couldn't be that unlucky to get 2 faulty ones.
I would assume its my PC if I couldn't replicate the problem in a brand new laptop and other PCs too. Both Windows 10, and 7 have the issue.
Has anyone heard of this problem with USB 3.0 devices or suggest a fix? Could it be a problem with a 64GB card?
Have you tried a new cable? When they sent you a new item did they also send a new cable or are you using the original one?
If the cable is faulty it would also explain why it works on USB 2.0
