Growing Strawberries and Runners

Iv been growing some strawberries lately but run into some runners with slight problems. ONe of my runners are to short to the main mother plant and cannot root properly as my pot is not big enough, I have a rectangular pot which has 4 mother plants.

Will the runner root properly if I just cut it off , "It has NOT rooted into the soil yet" And then replant it into another pot or it will die?

    Oh yeah, you are the user who is really impatient.. It needs adequate root growth, just wait for once!!

    it will prob die. Bring the soil to the runner in the form a soil filled plastic cup and peg the runner down with some bent steel.

    My plant has grown yellow and brown on the leaves could it be nitrogen deficiency? And will it die over time?
