Magellan N448 Watch Does Not Connect, Please Help

So I have the Magellan N448 watch for a little over 2 years now. It needs to be connected via bluetooth and an app on android or iOS for it to start functioning as a watch. The app is called Magellan Active or Echo Utility. The thing is, the stupid watch does not connect to the app nor bluetooth. It takes me hours on end to play around with it before it mysteriously "works", until I try to sync the watch with the app and then the watch bricks itself and thus the endless cycle of figuring out how the watch works starts anew. This isn't a one off issue, this has happened ever since I got the watch however I only started noticing about a year in since I never bothered to sync my watch to my phone.

Magellan claims it's a "factory defect". I think that's bullshit. The reviews on google play state otherwise.

I've contacted Magellan via email. They deny that there are issues with the apps and they've stated that they will "address my concerns". So far, they've done nothing. I called them up for some help and the guy kept on asking for my personal detail and refused to help unless I provided my name, address, phone number etc.

As of now, I'm pretty pissed. It has been 2 hours already where I've tried to connect the watch to the phone to get it working (and as I was typing this, the watch automatically turned itself off so now I have to start from scratch). So to all the ozbargainers out there, what would be the next reasonable step to take? I have the receipt and original packaging but that's from 2 years ago. Magellan reps are useless and seem to know fuck all about their products.
