Windscreen Damage - How Much Have You Paid?

Recently damages my windscreen accidentally and I am now looking for a fix.

Called O'Brien and had a laugh because their prices are sky high…..so now im looking around at a wrecker and trying to find a glazier at the same time to do the job for me because taking off a windscreen on your own can have many many many consequences.

Has anybody here had their windscreen replaced and if so, how much did you pay and would you recommend them. Im based in Sydney West and am looking to get it done.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Do you have insurance? Does it include windshield cover? If so, it's usually $250ish without losing your no claims.

  • I think i paid around $350 from NRMA for a mitsubishi lancer ES screen when it broke 3 or so years ago - i am an NRMA member but i dont have any kind of windscreen insurance

  • Got a local guy to do mine and was less than half the price of a larger company

  • paid RACQ 190$ to replace my camry windscreen, 20% more discount for members.

  • If you have an acoustic windscreen expect to pay a lot! in the vicinity of $800 and up.

Some wreckers take them off for you or they already have them removed in the warehouse, just find a wrecker that has done this to reduce the cost. A glazier to remove it and install it on yours will likely cost as much as getting a new one from the shop.

  • I recently damaged mine (in the bottom corner, non-repairable). I'm getting quotes for like $350-500… Any recommendations on a cheap supplier/fitter in sydney?
