Been looking for a copy of this and thinking of biting the bullet at this price. Don't forget 4% cashback also.

Also, Winter10 (10% Discount) works for the whole site I think.

Can't wait to get this game but it's still so expensive.

    • Yeah, I agree. Been waiting / hoping for a drop.

Steam Sale is rumoured to start 22nd Dec.

        • It started now, but looks like only 10% off at Steam

My general rule of CIV games is don't buy before the 2nd expansion. They are usually a buggy, unbalanced mess that requires at least a couple of expansions to fix. (1000+ hours in Civ5)

    • Actually plays fine

      • Of course it's fine. They wouldn't release it otherwise. It's just a shadow of its future self 😃

  • it seems cartoony, is it much better than civ v?

  • Damn - bought this 2 days ago. Oh well.

For the people that are asking / no doubt will ask; "is this game good?"

    Short answer: Yes

Long answer: If you have played civ 5 before this is very similar. The graphical style has changed - but looks quite nice. I was unsure about it at first, but it works. The game has some annoying oversights; no teams in multi-player & no build queue are the ones that annoy me the most at the moment.
It plays very similar to civ 5 - but is different enough to not just be a re-skin, you will pick it up pretty quick and does not have a steep learning curve for the new mechanics.
Its hard not to compare it to civ 5 which has multiple expansions - but this game standalone is probably as good as civ 5 is/was - and the expansions that they no doubt will release every year or so will make it better for sure.

Also note that civ games tend to hold their value.

  • Civ 5 (with NQMOD) is the greatest strategy game I've ever played but it took many, often frustrating, years to get there. Like others I'm happily playing Civ 5 for now and giving Civ 6 a couple of years to mature.

  • It's actually USD$52.01 after discount

    • Price changed for me after I went to look again which made it as per the title. Maybe try again? Unless they've changed it.

      • Sorry you were right.
It applies a VIP discount when you sign in, which doesn't work on mobile browsers regardless of whether you've signed in.

  • JB Hi-Fi currently have this for $69 also but it's not the Deluxe edition
