Dry Cleaning Price Has Jumped - Any Cheap Drop off Points in Melbourne?

I've always dropped my suits at the local newsagent, cost was $11.95 per 3 items and they come back a few days later from some central dry cleaner somewhere! Previously I've used the same service at local deli / supermarkets etc and they all seemed to go off to the same "factory",

My local price has just jumped to $18.95 per 3 items , so I'll be spending an extra $14 per 3 suits (6 items). (I noticed the "executive" service at my work is over $10 per item, sheesh)

Does anyone know of a local newsagency/drop off point that is still charging a low price?
"Ideally" Hawthorn, Balwyn, Templestowe, Doncaster, Eltham, but happy for anywhere around Melbourne CBD, Eastern Suburbs, North Eastern burbs…

How often do you wash your suits? ie, how often are you going to have to pay that extra $14?
Is it worth your time and effort to travel to another place?

  • Holy crap that's cheap.
Here in Perth I pay $17.50 for a two piece suit and that's one of the cheapest around.

  • In Malvern I'm paying $22.xx for quality dry cleaning of a 2 piece suit!

  • I kinda solved my own question last night.
I kept my eyes on every shopping strip on my commute home from work, and spotted a tiny sign on a newsagency window - $13.95 for 3 pieces.
At the Village on High Shopping Centre, Doncaster :)

("Shopping Centre" is a misnomer, it's an aging shopping strip, featuring a Budget Rite Grocery, Chinese BBQ, Circle K asian grocery, and a Cigarette outlet)

Most OzBargainers are great at finding online discounts, but the legwork is sometimes too much effort!
