  • The stupid privatised market where the prices are the highest in the world and every provider does their best to screw you as much as possible.

    • It's ridiculously expensive, yes, but I don't think it's the highest in the world. I've lived in places where it was certainly higher. :(

  • Have you done a comparison using this website? https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/

    • Yes I did, but as it excludes all pay on time discounts it elminates few major retailers best offer.

  • My apartment block use energy trade. Unfortunately!!! They installed hot water system that runs constant hot water around the building to achieve instant hot water. I turn my hot water on 90 second later I received hot water and energy trade say there system works fine. Also as they are a wholesaler there prices are ment to be lower there every other provider sadly for them AGL is cheaper then the rate they provide which I will be forwarding to NSW far trading. I will be using other providers and I will be installing my own hot water system

    • How did you go about changing energy provider? Is it possible when the block has embedded network and individual meters aren't connected with Ausgrid? Please see my comment below and advise if you have any insights. Appreciate it.

My concern is only with electricity connection. Gas connection is connected to the grid and we are able to choose any retailer. I am not sure if the hot water system runs on gas or electricity though. It's a new block.

  • I will be installing my own hot water system… can you please share some ideas.

  • I live in NSW and I am on 34% discount (includes loyalty discount) with Energy Australia. New place where I am moving has Energy Trade as the only provider (as it's an embedded network). I got to know about it only when Energy Australia told me that they can't provide electricity connection to the new address and I did some research. I am yet to speak with Energy Trade though. My property agent never talked about it, nor they seem to know the game. How should I go about if the rates/ discount of Energy Trade aren't as competitive as my current retailer and I am being forced to lose on it by having no other choice?
