  • Looks like TGG is best deal we can get from currently? Hoping for any better deal soon in a month or time bite bullet on TGG deal?

    • If you purchase at tgg by 5am 26th Dec you maybe eligible for a $50 gift card as well (double check).
Also tgg also have a price guarantee (double check eligibility and also eligibility when combined with other promos).

  • Consider Digidirect.for body only.

The aforementioned deals appear to be lenses without VR, thus inferior.

You've missed the Harvy Norman $300 for the 70-300 AF-P VR but I think Digidirect has it currently for $350.

The Good Guys have regular 20% off on their eBay deals which is where you can grab the DX AF-P 18-55 VR cheaply

  • $509 at JB HiFi currently, and comes with I think a $100 JB gift card

  • How did you go?
I just bought it from TGG for $465 inc a carry case and 32gb memory card.
The alternative is for $509 from JB and you get a $100 JB gift card.
Finding stock is the only issue… apart from online!

    • Gr8, was thinking about JB.
Is that 32gb card and case worth a difference?

      • The card??? Not really. It's just a 32GB Lexar card. 45MB read speed, obviously slower for writing. But probably fine for the most part. I've already purchased a 64GB Extreme online.
The case is just a handy little padded case that fits everything nicely. With a bit of room for an extra lens.

Like I said, it's a toss up between TGG and JB. JB is better if you think you'd spends $100 in there. But that's not hard to do with the prices they charge. Maybe if there's other stuff you want from there, and get a card, case, tripod, etc. online!

  • $444 for the single lens kit at HN. JB is pretty good but TGG deal probably edges it currently

  • Hoping for similar deal as before:

Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera + 18-55mm Kit Lens $398.40 + $8 Shipping or Free C&C @ The Good Guys eBay

  • Yeah same. Wish I had pulled the trigger then, but assumed Xmas/Boxing Day etc deals would give me a suitable deal…wondering if TGG will be it..

  • I can't say I even wanted a camera, that was until our Au pair asked if I could help her buy one. Then I thought why not, I'm sick of using the phone as a poor camera!

But I would be very surprised if TGG let the camera slip through on that 20% deal again. According to a couple of sources they'd be losing money on the current deals if it wasn't for rebates and advertising promotion credits.
Maybe if ebay do a 10% off deal sitewide real soon there's a chance. But I'd imagine TGG will bump their price back up just as soon as the promo ends!

  • Bought it for $366 effectively.

Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens

Price matched at JBHiFi with TGG.

Plus JB is giving $100 coupon.

    (15% off $549)-$100 = $366.

    • How did you get the 15% off bit?

      • Showed them the product page on thegoodguys.com.au. They were selling it for $549 with a 15% discount. But not anymore.

You can show JB the price on Harvey Norman site which is $494 and they will match the price plus give the $100 coupon.
