Amazon's Description:

A stunningly unique take on time travel. From the NY Times bestselling author whose books have been downloaded over a million times.

One of the top 100 books in the Kindle store for almost three months!

What if you found a way to send something back in time? But not weeks, days, or even minutes back. What if you could only send something back a fraction of a second? Would this be of any use? You wouldn't have nearly enough time to right a wrong, change an event, or win a lottery.

Nathan Wexler is a brilliant physicist who thinks he's found a way to send matter a split second back into the past. But before he can even confirm his findings, he and his wife-to-be, Jenna Morrison, find themselves in a battle for their very lives. Because while time travel to an instant earlier seems useless, Jenna comes to learn that no capability in history has ever been more profound or far-reaching.

Now, as Jenna fights to defeat the powerful forces arrayed against her, nothing less than the fate of humanity hangs in the balance…

SPLIT SECOND is a roller-coaster ride of a thriller, one that will have readers pondering the nature of time, and of reality, long after they've read the last page.

"Richards is a worthy successor to Michael Crichton." (SF Book.com)

"Richards is a tremendous new talent" (Stephen Coonts) who can "keep you turning the pages all night long" (Douglas Preston)

I recommend downloading these two also while you're at it:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012E4EATQ/

Read Mercury begins - it's a funny read. The tentacle porn one sounds funny too!

    • If the Minister of Finance finds tentacle porn on my device, it's not going to end well.

Though the hardcover would be a good one to read on the train

Sadly no actual tentacle porn in the plot based on this review on the Amazon page:

"Excellent book with the most terrible title I've ever seen.
I only read this book because it was highly recommended. I didn't buy it at first because of the title and only tried a sample. It only took a few pages to get me hooked. There is no porn, no tentacles, no space aliens that aren't understandable. This author is a master at story craft, setting the scenes and moods quickly. This is one of a handful of books that I've read in the last 65 years that I've picked up and read again the next day."

        ;(

        • This author is a master at story craft

Sure he is! Too far, Authors-Dad, too far ;)

  • A split second in the past. Doesn't leave much time.
Possibly stock market betting with a super low latency internet connection.
    Or paper, rock, scissors game.
Or Tweed what Trump tweets before he tweets it.

Or go on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and go back and answer the question(s) again.

      • or send the time machine back and then instantly send it back another second… then another second….rinse repeat.

  • I tried to download this book but couldn't get it to work because it wasn't available for my country!

    • You might be using the wrong Amazon store? OP has two links up there, for US and AU (I always use the US as that's what I started with before the AU existed, and the AU store seems pretty useless so I never bothered to switch)

  • I was waiting for this one, as the copy from Mobilism was not in a good format.
