Recommendations for Cheap (Less Expensive) Rayban Aviators online?

Hi mates, good day!

So missus is bugging me to buy her a Rayban Avaitor for Christmas since last month and after 3 tries I finally gave in and so the price hunt begins!

I've checked in-store (via Sunglasshut and Myer) but they're too darn expensive (average of $200 at least). I've checked out Costco as well and although the price is less overpriced (at $140) unfortunately the colour that the missus wants is not available and now I'm turning my attention to online sites (Shadestation, iframes,Ottica etc.) but I'm having doubts of their authenticity.

So here I am asking the great OZB community for help as to which online site I can buy these friggin overpriced Raybans, that is hopefully less expensive and at the same time guaranteed authentic.

Any recommendations you can share will be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Sunglass Hut regularly has sales. They had 30% off last week and 20% off at present. They sell genuine Ray Bans

    • Thanks for the reply. Yea saw that 30% off on the yellow tagged items but unfortunately its selected items only and the one that missus wants is not included. But i might go for it come boxing day only as a last option im sure its storewide off on that day.

i just bought one for AUD 188 incl shipping, this exact one is retailed at sydney shop for AUD390. sorry not rayban nor aviator

        • whoa! that's a great buy. its a 52% savings on your end. i've checked the site seems like raybans here are less expensive compared to other sites especially that there's on ongoing xmas 10% off sale which brings these aviators to 142.00 aud incl. shipping. but bugger though the lens color that the missus wants is out of stock. hahaha. thanks for the referral though I might purchase on this site if i can convinced missus to change her mind about choosing a different lens color but thats highly unlikely though.

@Mstenchavez: yeah. for me i trust that website. i even have directly called the brand manufacture at UK London to confirm sunglasses2u is on their official stocklist reseller/agent.

        • @dragonindespair: Yeah definitely it is. i just found out that this site is the sister company (same company) of watches2u.com and i've made some purchases of g-shocks in the past there with no issues plus the trustpilot review is good too. thanks

    Have a look at http://www.visiondirect.com.au/

My husband bought some Raybands Aviators from them twice. Good price, free delivery, free lens cleaning kit, all good. They were shipped from Hong Kong, came with Rayban boxes & sunglasses cases. We have no reason to think those sunglasses are fake.

    • Thanks for the recommendation. Will check that out

      • thanks for the heads up. I read a similar review on the net also but its somewhat a case to case basis as there were also other customers who had a positive buying experience through visiondirect. But then again the item i am looking for is quite expensive in visiondirect so im looking for other sites.

Do you have a health fund? Some establishments can actually claim sunnies, you just need to ask around.

    • Hmm interesting. I do have health fund. Ill ask around sir. Thanks!

      • If you're on a health fund with optical, message me. That goes for anyone else.

Great OP, have been on the hunt for aviators too so very good timing

    • Yeah Join the club sir! The site that [@dragonindespair] recommended has the best prices of aviators so far. I would definitely buy the aviator from there but unfortunately the lens color that missus wants is currently out of stock. So i might probably settle buying it in-store via sunglass hut in dfo and hopefully the discount will be significant enough for me not to be disoriented hahaha

Buy sunglasshut gift cards with amex if you've enrolled the sunglasshut offer(or find someone on ozbargain who enrolled-ive got some i won't use). That way you can save $$ and can try them on and buy in store.
Or if you really want to save and have a health cover, I'd visit asian optometry.

I get my sunglasses annually through BUPA at specsavers. Pretty sure there might be other places too. Have a Merry Christmas!

I've picked up a pair for $95.00 from the DFO outlets of sunglass hut. Some of them have a minor scratch on the frame and that's enough for them to discount the part!

    • What sunnies is it? Is it a rayban avaitor?

      • +1

Sorry. Yes, Original Rayban Brand. Aviator design. It was the black frame with black lenses. Non polarised version.

I actually bought a pair of sunnies from sunglasses hut 2 weeks ago in America. I then dropped and scratched them 2 days later, I took them nack and explained what happened and they replaced them.

Not sure if this is standard when buying decent sunnies (i usually wear 5 dollar pairs) but I was very impressed that they replaced them. I was actually just going to see if they could buff the lense or something.

    +1 for sunglasses hut

Bought 2x Rayban aviators from Amazon US (for myself and the missus) as we were looking for very specific models. Even with FedEX and freight forwarder charges, ended up saving about $175ish (total) vs Sunglass Hut.

This was 4 years ago. Reckon still doable if the savings are worthwhile.

    • Thanks for the referral. Now if only missus will settle for wayferers then i would definitely buy this in a heartbeat..hahaha but too bad i think she got her heart set on them aviators though.
