Data Recovery on iPhone after It Has Been Restored

Hi All,

My partners iPhone 6 has been accidentally restored after kids messing with it.

She has lost a lot of her data that she never had a backup for on iCloud or on a hard drive. She restored it to the last backup on a computer from and old iPhone 1.5 years ago.

Is there anyway to recover this data and make her happy again this Xmas?! :)

Thanks in advance.

There are more than a few pieces of software which claim to recover data post restore. Google it. Mileage may vary.

Not possible. All data on every modern iOS device is encrypted. Once a user decides to restore, iOS deletes the key that was previously used to decrypt that data. No way to recover data after that.

It is actually a very fast and secure way to reset a device, however, it requires extra responsibility from a user ;)

  • iCloud backs up automatically. Have you checked if there's a recent backup there?

  • Hey, sorry to hear that. But I don't think you can't recover the data. But you can still try to use iPhone Data Recovery. The software can scan your iPhone and find the deleted data if they are not overwritten by the new data. Learn how to do that here:
