Adelaide First Home Buyer Options

Dear Friends,

As a first home buyer, could you guide me on choosing a neighborhood which which might have the best rate of growth in and around Adelaide in coming years with reasons or neighborhoods to avoid.

My budget is up to -+ 500k. I do like to have a bit of land as garden and options of future development of same land would also be great.

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Well, for growth and stability, the government just signed the 50bn subs deal, so you could assume anything within 5-10km of Osborne could be a safe bet. Areas beach side of Victoria Road are good, other side of Victoria Road is something you want to avoid.

For 500k, maybe think like Largs North, or even North Haven if you don't mind being that far out. Largs is 25 mins to the city without traffic, add another 5 for North Haven. Again, get as close to beach side as possible and stay away from Victoria Rd if possible.

Other areas of interest, they're currently building hundreds of houses in an estate names "West" where AAMI stadium is in West Lakes (on the ovals Crows used to train on) This can only be good for the area, I see off the plan is starting from $370,000 but you don't get much for that. Any suburb around there is 5 minutes to the beach and you can get some great value for $500k.

Use realestate.com.au and tick the "include surrounding suburbs" option.

    Good luck!

    • Truly appreciate it mate.

Depends where you work but if i had to narrow down one suburb it would be
    Sheidow Park

  • Thank you all. Enjoy your holidays.

  • Consider Kurralta Park and surrounds, good block sizes and close to city and beach.

    • I assume you live there or around there? Can you hear the planes all the time?

      • Used to, I have moved since - you do hear them but its not disturbing as how it is in say Mile End, Plympton, or Brooklyn Park - certainly didnt keep me up at night and I'm a very light sleeper!
