NBN Optical Light Turned Red

Hi, my optical light suddenly turned red, tried reboot and reset still the same. I guess it is the fiber being loosen.
Do you call your ISP to fix it? Is there a cost for it?
Please share your experience. Thank you!

  • I would suggest you to call them first…

There is nothing we can do with optical fibre… as it needs professional tool to fix…

    • +1

We seen enough episodes of mcguyver. Sure we can. All we need is a roll of ductape. A paperclip and some chewing gum.

Just kidding. Course we cant. Ring the ISP op. They will send someone out from NBN to fix it.

      • Ductape can fix the socket issues

My friend's house got Telstra fibre, and one day the Internet was disconnected - the fibre is broken by some of the diggers,,,,

  • Yep call your ISP and they'll organise an NBN tech to fix the fault. From my experience there has never been any fees for fixing a broken NTD or fiber connection.

    • And there shouldn't be. Not the ops fault the fibre broke perhaps or the ntd went to silicon heaven. It happens.

      • Indeed. Dodgy contractors have tried it before.

        • I have seen images of contractors not doing the "dial before you dig" thing and causing all sorts of dramas.

        • @xoom: Hahaha yeah I had contractors insist that an earth cable was the old copper and that they should cut it.
